Owning a business is risky, challenging and, at times, intimidating. It is also one of the most rewarding of life’s experiences. My entrepreneurial journey has taught me a lot so far. These are five of the best lessons that I have learnt.

The most important investment you can ever make is in yourself. As a young woman in business, I have seen the returns of the investments that I chose to make as I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey. I would always encourage other persons to do the same. For some reason, it is always easier to spend money on tangible assets and equipment for our businesses.

I am a believer in destiny. To me, nothing happens by chance. Every decision, opportunity, and challenge lead to exactly where you are supposed to be in life. I was never one of those persons with a mapped-out life plan. I always believed that if I did my best eventually my life’s path would become clear to me. However, I always followed my heart with every decision that I made that pertained to my future.
